CONTEST WINNERS!!

The second annual Why I Like Zacherley Contest ended recently with a record number of entries. Igor and the gang were up nights and days wading through the volumes of mail and reading every entry. We were surprised that Igor could read, but Gasport assured us that he had been taking lessons.

First we want to thank you all for entering. Your entries were wonderful. The choices were difficult, but we have our three winners. Our winners shall be personally notified and their gifts will be mailed as soon as possible.

Our grand prize winner is Mary Rajnic with the following entry:

I like Zacherley because he came into my life like a vampire in the night when he was the ghoul Roland. He sang to me songs of desire with heart felt lyrics in tunes like DINNER WITH DRAC, COOLEST LITTLE MONSTER, 82 TOMBSTONES, and THE HA HA HA. Those memories still send a shiver down my spine.

Zacherley's compassion for his fellow monsters during his presidential campaigns stakes my heart to the coffin with admiration. And it is in my coffin, like My Dear, that I await the gentle ghoul, the cool ghoul who will make my rancid flesh creep.

Our first runner up is Melvin Brown with this entry:

I like Zacherley because he made it okay to be different. He came along during the people's fight for equality. We were treated differently because we were told we were different, and that made us feel less whole. But this guy on TV was different and he was okay with being different. His show was also different from anything else on television.

It didn't matter to me that Zacherley was an actor playing a role. What mattered was that his character was comfortable with who he was while being so different in the world. That made me comfortable with who I was.

Zacherley helped me realize that everyone is different and that's okay. And he helped me realize that being different didn't stop me from being equal.

Our second runner up is Tanya "Sister Diabolical" Dorillo with this entry:

I Like Zacherley because
His diabolical laughter gives me pause.
When Gasport moans
And My Dear groans,
I shudder while biting my claws!

On behalf of Zacherley, we here in the Dungeon want to congratulate the winners and thank everyone who participated in this year's contest. Next year we're going to try something a little different and see what happens!

Don't forget to see Zacherley at Chiller Theatre in Parsippany April 13-15 and then with Soupy Sales at the Do Dah Parade. We'll have more on the parade soon!
