A word from Kevin...

I just got back from the show and wanted to say a few things about this past weekend.

I have to give a shout out to the Parsippany Fire Department, Parsippany Police, Parsippany Emergency People, my Chiller Staff, and all the Hilton Staff that all went above and beyond their duty that made sure that all of Chiller Theatre friends and attendees were kept out of any harms way with the gas leak and bomb threat at the hotel on Saturday.

Basically what happened was we had to evacuate all the people out of the show because these was a gas leak around 3:00 in the back of the hotel and then about 20 minutes after that a bomb threat was called in. We care about the safety of our friends, attendees, and families and were given the word to evacuate everyone out of the hotel. Our attendees and vendors were the first to go out, then the staff, then the main Chiller staff members.

Like a lot of the people when we evacuated the hotel we went to Eddie's jeep and waited to get back inside. We really had no updates at all on what was happening inside. Three hours later we were all allowed back into the hotel.

We added the missing hours onto the schedule and the guests and vendors were extended to 10:00 pm. Anyone that had a wristband on were let back into the hotel. On Sunday, when we opened the box office, we honored all purple wristbands from the day before.

Because of the new world we are all living in now and because of this weekends past event we are going to change a few things to help get information just incase something like this happens again. Starting with the April show will will be giving updates on the show all weekend long on our Twitter page. This page has been used in the past just to update who's appearing at the show and ticket buying info. It will now be used as an updated information site on the Chiller Theatre weekend! If a celebrity cancels out on the day of the show, or there are time changes to the schedule, or an emergency arises we will be able to keep you updated. We suggest that all of our attendees follow our "Chiller Theatre" Twitter Page.

Every show for the past 20 years I've been located at a table in the main lobby at the show to give all attendees full access to me. Unlike some other promoters out there, I do not run and hide if something goes wrong at the show. I and there to help someone if they have a problem concerning the show. This past Saturday when we opened the doors back open again, I was there to provide answers to the attendees. Anyone that came up with a question I answered it, anyone that came up with a purple wristband was let back in with no problem.

Sorry I couldn't be here sooner but when the show ends on Sunday for everyone I'm still there working until Monday afternoon.
